The Conscious Mind
The conscious mind is our window to the external environment, where we perceive sensations such as sight, smell, taste, touch, and hearing. Its primary function is singular: observation. It keenly watches over the unfolding of physical, emotional, and mental activities, refraining from actively participating in their execution.
Notably, the conscious mind abstains from rendering these activities; instead, it diligently observes. Whether it’s a fleeting thought, the manifestation of an emotion, or the response to a physical injury, the conscious mind remains a detached observer.
This leads to a crucial distinction: the conscious mind does not wield control over our actions. Its role is limited to observation. Yet, there exists another significant function it performs – serving as a pathway or conduit to our subconscious mind. It acts as a sort of funnel, facilitating the flow of information and influence to the deeper realms of our psyche.
The Subconscious Mind
The subconscious mind assumes the profound responsibility of crafting the entirety of your surroundings, essentially giving shape to your reality. Every occurrence in your external environment, without exception, is a product of the subconscious mind’s intricate construction. Physical reality, in its entirety, is not only influenced by the subconscious but is essentially composed of the substrate of the subconscious mind.
Consider, for a moment, envisioning yourself without the subconscious mind. In this hypothetical scenario, you’d exist solely as the conscious mind, retaining the five senses but lacking the ability to make coherent sense of them. Without memories, attachments, or the emotional responses ingrained by the subconscious, you would resemble a sentient being akin to a tree, experiencing the present moment without the richness of emotions, relationships, or past experiences.
Crucially, the subconscious mind is the master renderer, orchestrating thoughts, emotions, intuition, actions, genetics, and perceptions. It weaves the tapestry of your reality, highlighting that without perception, physical reality would cease to exist. Everything, in essence, unfolds within you, emphasizing the profound connection between your internal world and the external universe.
As Wayne Dyer aptly noted, “When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.” This insight hints at the transformative power inherent in understanding the subconscious mind—a knowledge that empowers you to achieve and create your own reality.
In recognizing that the subconscious mind is the architect of the universe you perceive, it becomes evident that the key to altering this universe lies within the conscious mind. Yet, intriguingly, there is another layer to this intricate interplay, waiting to be unveiled.
The Superconscious Mind
The curiosity about the world beyond ourselves has been with me since childhood. I used to wonder if the reality I experienced was the only reality, especially when sitting alone in my room. I questioned whether only what I was conscious of was real.
These thoughts resurfaced during my early days studying Electronics and Communications Engineering. A documentary by Michio Kaku on quantum mechanics prompted me to think about the nature of reality. It struck me that while what I see is real, there’s something greater at play—something beyond me and my subconscious mind. Quantum physics suggests that consciousness influences outcomes.
This realization led me to understand that my individual experience isn’t the only reality. There’s a force shaping the story around me. Through meditation, I realized the subconscious mind plays a significant role in how I perceive reality.
Further exploration revealed a connection between shifts in my mental state and the outcomes in my life. Whether predicting the future or manifesting it, I found that controlling the subtle energies preceding thoughts offers a degree of control over destiny. This aligns with the basic principles of the law of attraction—a concept that emphasizes the power of directing one’s mental energies.
Upon realizing this, I was struck with the notion that the narrative of our lives could be reshaped by placing the subconscious in an empty space, creating a disconnect between the subconscious and physical reality. In simpler terms, I saw myself as primary to existence, with physical reality being secondary to my experience.
Anything beyond my perception is left open for the physical to influence, as the subconscious stops crafting the old story around elements outside its field of vision. I’ve dubbed this realm of “physical reality” the Super Conscious Mind (SCM), as it goes beyond the ordinary bounds of consciousness.
Much like the conscious mind serves as a conduit to the subconscious, the subconscious acts as a pathway to the Super Conscious Mind. Unlike the subconscious, the SCM doesn’t reside in the body; attempting such a transmutation would result in what’s known as “samadhi,” or death, as it is inherently infinite. However, access to the SCM is possible through the subconscious mind.
Analogous to how your conscious mind accesses the subconscious during dreams, you can transmute your conscious mind into the subconscious through persistent effort, reaching a “lucid dream state” where you have absolute control over your environment. In this lucid state, you can induce your subconscious mind to tap into the Super Conscious Mind, gaining access to unlimited knowledge of the physical and spiritual world. While it demands significant effort and persistence to consciously access this state, the potential for profound understanding and control over one’s reality is substantial.
The term “Super Conscious Mind” represents a reality that is more fundamental than what we commonly refer to as physical reality. In essence, the physical reality is considered a subset of this broader Super Conscious Mind, marking it as the third plane of existence. Further insights into this concept will unfold in the upcoming chapter, “The 7 Planes of Existence.”
Remarkable figures like Albert Einstein and other extraordinary individuals are believed to tap into the intelligence derived from this specific plane of existence, providing access to profound knowledge about the physical world. As we delve into subsequent chapters, we’ll explore and gain a deeper understanding of these intriguing dimensions.
