A well-grounded tree can withstand strong wind currents and all sorts of external situations. Similarly, the root chakra or Muladhara is the basis of all spiritual grounding. If you want to prepare your body for a powerful spiritual process or just become more emotionally grounded, the root chakra meditation is for you.
The root chakra is present at the base of the spine. Some scriptures associate it with earth elemental. Many emotional blockages can create knots in your root chakra. Furthermore, these knots can make you a slave to your compulsions.
For instance, if your root chakra is blocked the only things you’ll care about would be food, shelter, and sleep. In fact, your greatest motivator in life would be food.
On the other hand, a person with a fully developed root chakra is called a Bramhachari (Someone who is self-contained and is headed towards the divine path).
One of the benefits of being a Brahmachari is, you’ll become happier and more powerful. Moreover, you’ll be able to manifest big things effortlessly because you have absolute control over your body and mind.
The Root Chakra Meditation
The root chakra meditation will ground you, remove obstacles and set you on a spiritual path. You’ll be able to explore metaphysical dimensions without losing or causing harm to yourself.
Also, as its name suggests, it is the root of your subtle body holding onto your physical form. When a person dies, they lose the grip of their root chakra. The following root chakra meditation will help open the knots and give you a stronger hold of your physical form. A practice named Kayakalpa focuses on strengthening your root chakra to extend your lifespan.
Step 1: Relax your body and mind.
Take deep breaths and consciously relax your entire body. You can focus on each muscle one by one and command it to relax. As you release tension from your body, your mind will naturally become silent.
Moreover, when you move your attention on the breath, you go under concentration naturally.
Step 2: Move your attention to the root.
Move your attention to the base of your spine and concentrate it there. As you become more and more aware of that area, your root chakra will naturally begin to light up.
Step 3: Command it to strengthen.
Visualize the roots of your awareness. See how they are connected to your physical body. And slowly, you’ll begin to notice how it connects with your body and gives you access to your current bodily experience.
Also, an alternate method would be to visualize a white light at the base of your spine and keep it there. This will bring your awareness to the root chakra and slowly release the knots and blockages, opening your root chakra.
